Now in its 30th year, The Australian Wool Fashion Awards is not only Australia’s largest and longest running fashion competition, but also the Australian Wool Industry’s most enduring promotional event. Each year The Awards entice over three hundred entrants to exploit the potential of wool in all its many wonderful forms by entering their creations in any of eleven competition categories with a total prize pool valued at over $58,000. Entries are judged by independent and high profile Australian fashion personalities who select not only prize winners, but the final Collection to be presented in a spectacular fashion shows at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Then for a year this Collection becomes an incredible promotional tool for the Australian wool industry across the length and breadth of Australia and at industry trade fairs around the world. Thanks to Australian Wool Innovation, The Awards collection is achieving even greater exposure and features the very latest innovations in fabric, used in cutting edge styles. The annual event ensures the Collection is fresh and innovative, showing wool at its very best. One of The Award’s aims is to introduce young designers to the wonderful qualities of wool.
